UAPB dean receives award for international education

Pamela D. Moore, Ph.D., the associate dean for global engagement and the leader of the Office of International Programs and Studies at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, has been named the recipient of the 2026 NAFSA Arkansas State Award. The honor recognizes her significant contributions to advancing international education across the state.

Moore received the award during a recent gathering of the Arkansas chapter of NAFSA, the leading association dedicated to international educators. Her work at UAPB has focused on expanding study abroad opportunities, building partnerships with institutions overseas, and creating a welcoming environment for international students on campus.

Colleagues point to her efforts to secure funding for student travel and her push to integrate global perspectives into the curriculum as key reasons for the recognition. Under her guidance, the office has also worked to connect local students with cultural exchange programs that might otherwise be out of reach.

The NAFSA state award is given to individuals who show outstanding leadership and service in the field. Moore's nomination highlighted her ability to work across departments and her commitment to making global learning accessible to all students, regardless of their background.
