Israeli philanthropies expand educational centers for injured children in Ukraine

A network of educational centers for children wounded in the war is growing across Ukraine, backed by Israeli philanthropic organizations. Following the launch of a similar facility in Odesa, the project's organizers are now exploring the possibility of expanding the program to other regions of the country.

The centers are designed to provide specialized learning environments for children who have suffered physical and psychological trauma due to the ongoing conflict. Medical and educational staff work with each child individually, helping them catch up on school material while also offering rehabilitation support. The initiative aims to address the long-term needs of young victims, many of whom have lost limbs, hearing, or mobility.

Israeli charities involved in the project bring experience from their own work with trauma-affected youth. The centers combine classroom instruction with therapy sessions, using methods developed for children recovering from severe injuries. Organizers say the goal is not just to educate but to restore a sense of normalcy and hope.

The Odesa center has already served dozens of children, and reports from families have been positive. Now, the same model is being considered for cities like Kharkiv and Dnipro, where the need is acute. While no final decisions have been made, the expansion would depend on funding and local partnerships. The project reflects a broader effort by international groups to support Ukraine's most vulnerable population during the war.
