The Humboldt County Office of Education recently held its third annual Career Technical Education Student Recognition Ceremony, honoring high school seniors for their achievements in career-focused programs. The event celebrated students who have completed rigorous coursework in fields ranging from health science and agriculture to construction and digital media.
During the ceremony, students received certificates of completion for their CTE pathways, acknowledging the specialized skills they developed over the course of their high school careers. In addition to the certificates, several students were awarded scholarships to support their continued education or training in their chosen fields. The scholarships are intended to help bridge the gap between high school and the workforce or further technical schooling.
Local educators and industry partners attended the event to congratulate the students and speak about the importance of career readiness. Many of the honorees have already secured internships or job offers through their CTE programs, which combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience.
The Humboldt County Office of Education emphasized that these programs are vital for preparing students for high-demand careers in the region. The ceremony highlighted the growing role of technical education in providing students with practical skills and direct pathways to employment after graduation.
