TorchLight, a provider of managed cybersecurity services, has secured a significant expansion in the public education sector. The company has been approved as an authorized vendor through two major cooperative purchasing programs: the Foundation for California Community Colleges and the Washington Learning Source.
This approval means that hundreds of K-12 school districts, community colleges, and other public agencies across California and Washington can now more easily access TorchLight's suite of cybersecurity solutions. Available services include managed security operations, compliance auditing, penetration testing, and virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) support.
The move addresses a critical and growing need within the education sector. Schools and colleges are frequent targets for cyberattacks, which can disrupt learning and compromise sensitive student and staff data. However, these institutions often face budget constraints and a shortage of in-house IT security expertise.
By being listed on these cooperative contracts, TorchLight streamlines the procurement process for educational entities. This allows them to efficiently acquire enterprise-level cybersecurity protection without undergoing lengthy individual bidding processes. The company's inclusion in these programs is seen as a step toward bolstering the digital defenses of educational institutions on the West Coast, helping to safeguard their operations and data from increasingly sophisticated threats.
