POCATELLO — The School District 25 Education Foundation has proudly announced the selection of this year's recipients for the Terry Perkins Educational Scholarship. This marks the eighth annual awarding of the $3,000 scholarship, established in 2018 to honor the legacy of the late Terry Perkins, a dedicated educator and former principal within the district.
The scholarship is specifically designed to support graduating seniors from Pocatello and Highland High Schools who plan to pursue a career in education. The selection committee places a strong emphasis on applicants who demonstrate a genuine passion for teaching, a commitment to community service, and a clear vision for their future in the classroom.
This year's recipients have distinguished themselves through outstanding academic performance, leadership roles, and a heartfelt dedication to mentoring others. Their applications reflected a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards of the teaching profession, aligning perfectly with the scholarship's mission to inspire and empower the next generation of educators.
The foundation views the scholarship as a vital investment in the future of local education. By providing financial assistance and recognition to these promising students, the program aims to encourage talented individuals to enter the teaching field and eventually return their skills and passion to their home communities. The award ceremony celebrates not only the students' past achievements but also their potential to shape young minds for years to come.
