The Marshall County Board of Education has officially approved the budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year. This decision came after a comprehensive presentation by Treasurer Nan Hartley during a meeting held on Tuesday. The board members expressed their unanimous support for the budget, highlighting its importance for the upcoming academic year.
In addition to approving the budget, the board also set a date for a public hearing regarding the 2026 budget. This hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, allowing community members an opportunity to voice their opinions and ask questions about the budgetary allocations.
Hartley provided board members with a detailed breakdown of the budget, which included a summary of expected revenues and expenditures. This "cheat sheet" aimed to clarify the financial planning involved and ensure transparency in the budgeting process. The approval marks a significant step in preparing for the educational needs of students in Marshall County for the upcoming years.
