The Lake Mountain School District has finalized the purchase of a 100-acre parcel in Eagle Mountain, marking a major step toward building a collaborative education hub. The land will host a joint campus shared by the school district, Mountainland Technical College, and Utah Valley University.
District officials say the project aims to create a seamless pathway for students moving from high school into technical training or university programs. The campus will offer shared facilities, including labs, classrooms, and common spaces, reducing costs for all three institutions while expanding access for local students.
Eagle Mountain has seen rapid population growth in recent years, and school leaders have pointed to the need for more educational infrastructure. The joint campus is expected to serve thousands of students, offering everything from career and technical education to four-year degree programs.
Construction timelines have not been announced, but planning is already underway. The district says the partnership with Mountainland Technical College and UVU will allow students to earn college credits and industry certifications while still in high school. Community members have expressed support for the project, noting that it could boost the local economy and keep more young people in the area for their education.
The acquisition was approved during a recent board meeting, with funding coming from district reserves and state grants. No further details on the budget have been released.
